Authors Guidlines
EDITORIAL POLICY AND GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Contributing authors should submit only those papers of interest to practitioners, researchers, academic, trainers and educators as well as to policy makers in the private and public sectors. As much as possible. manuscripts should display a fine balance between well-attested facts and well informed opinion and arguments and a writing style which is intelligible to specialists and non- specialists. It is essential for authors to clearly indicate the implications of their research for scholars and practitioners in social sciences.
Title: The title must be 16 words or fewer. It should be specific descriptive, concise and comprehensive to readers outside the subjects field. Avoid acronyms/abbreviations if possible.
Authors and Affiliations: All author names should be listed in the following order:
First Names (or initials, if used),
Middles names (or initials, if used), and
Last names (surname, Family name) in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS
Each author should list an associated department, university, or organizational affiliation and its location, including city, state/province (if applicable), and country. In case of joint authorship, one author should be designated as the corresponding author, and his or her phone number, email address or other contact information should be included on the manuscript cover page.
Abstract: The abstract should describe the main objective(s) of the study, explain how the study was done, including any model used, without methodological details; summarize the most important results and their Significance. It should not exceed 200 words. A list of not more than six relevant key words should be included I for cataloguing purposes.
The Body of the Manuscripts:
- Authors must adhere to a uniform format of the paper as stipulated below: Abstract, Introduction and Literature Review, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussions of Findings, Conclusion and Recommendations, References and Brief autobiographical note of the authors (100 words maximum)
- Papers should be submitted in MS Word, double spaced typescript, using Times New Roman (12pts) with 1.5" left margins and other and the UK English language style formatted to A4 pages size.
- Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages in all.
- The title page should contain the title of the paper, author's name, addresses, phone number and email while the first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the article (preferably no more than 16 words), but without the name(s) of the author(s).
- Headings and sub headings should not be numbered. Headings and subheadings must appear adjacent to the left margin, with heading in bold type and subheading in italics.
- All tables, illustrations and figures should be submitted in black and white. The editor reserves the right to refuse publications of any submission for which the artwork is not an acceptable standard. Tables, numbered clearly at the top, and graphs/figures numbered clearly at the bottom, should be placed in their final positions (not appended at the end).
- The Editor reserves the right to accept other styles, to make minor alterations to the style or to reject any manuscripts on the grounds of deficiencies of style or content.
- It is required that all author(s) have their draft articles reviewed for language proficiency before submitting them to the editors. Sometimes excellent submissions have been drastically amended or even rejected because of linguistic ineptitude.
- The pages of the manuscripts should be numbered consecutively.
- References: The American Psychological Association referencing technique should be used. Footnotes should be avoided; if notes are necessary these should be endnotes, Italics or underlining should be used sparingly for emphasis.
Submission and Review Process
- Manuscripts submitted for consideration should be written in clear English language with a maximum of 8,000-word size, including an abstract of not more than 250 words. It should have 5 key words and be typed in New Roman Style and 12 font size using double line spacing.
- Cover page should contain title, full name(s), institutional affiliation, telephone number(s), postal and e-mail address of the author(s).
- Referencing style must be in the 7th edition of the American Psychological Association (APA).
- All manuscripts should be submitted electronically in MS Word format to josmas@tasued.edu.ng and copied to: osinusikb@tasued.edu.ng and should not have been published or under review for publication elsewhere.
- Articles must be sent with a non-refundable assessment fee of N10,000, authors whose papers are accepted are to pay publication fee of N30,000 with an evidence of payment.
- The editorial board will make the final decision on whether an article is acceptable for publication or not.
- If approved subject to revision, the manuscripts will be returned to the author(s) who will make the necessary corrections. The final copy of the manuscripts will then be returned to the editors.
- The author(s) will be notified when a manuscript is finally accepted for publication in the journal and will be informed of publication conditions. The author(s) will receive written acknowledgment of acceptance.
