Author Guidelines
The VAS Journal publishes articles that examine research and research related topics in Vocational and Technical Education as well as allied sciences. The Editorial Board is committed to publishing scholarly works that represent a variety of conceptual and methodological bases. That is, empirically-based articles that report results of original research, review of empirical and theoretical literature and published books in the area of Vocational and Technical Education are given much scholarly consideration. The VAS Journal also considers for publication articles presented at conferences including those disseminated through conference proceedings
The manuscript style should be as follows:
- The official language of the Journal is English.
- The articles/papers for the VAS Journal must be original and not more than 15 pages of A4 papers in Times New Roman font size 12 and 1.5 lines spacing while the abstract should be in single line spacing and not exceeding 250 words in italics; tables, figures, references must conform to the APA format sixth edition); appendices, etc.
- The cover page should bear the title of the paper, author's name and institution of affiliation, email addresses and phone no (in case of more than one author, the names and affiliations must be placed side by side.
- The title of the article/paper must be in capital letters bold-face with the surname first and in capital letters e.g. AKEJU, O.A.
- The names of the authors affiliations, email and phone number(s) should not be bold but put in italics.
- The abstract must be one block/one paragraph abstract, typing single spacing and put in italic form. The abstract should capture the background, introduction, methodology, findings/discussions, conclusion/recommendations.
- Three (3) to five (5) keywords are required
- All tables and figures must be put in their appropriate places and pages within the articles - use font 10 (Times New Roman) for all tables and figures, and single spacing for all the items in the table. Note that tables must not contain any columns, only horizontal line must be provided with the words and figures well arranged as may be required.
- On exceptional cases, if tables are to appear in the appendices of the article, appropriate/expression or appendices numbers and reference of such should be made within the article to avoid confusion to the reading audience.
- Mixed research methodologies are allowed but the approaches below can serve as a guide for flexibility - authors are to adapt/adopt the approaches below as may be necessary. (A) Abstract, Introduction/Background, Research Purpose/Objectives, Research Questions/Hypotheses, Methodology (Capturing, the Research Design, Target Population, Sample and Sampling, Procedure, Research Instrument, Validity of Research Instrument, Reliability of Research Instrument, Method of Data Collection, Method of Data Analysis), Result, Discussion of Result/Findings, Conclusion, Recommendations and References. (B) In case of position/theoretical papers the order should be Abstract, Introduction, Body of the Article (should be arranged logically along with Conclusion, Recommendations, References.
- Ensure that ethical consideration is given to your study and ethic certification number cited where applicable. The sources of pictures template, figures, maps, etc. must be referred appropriately.
- The references style should follow the latest edition of APA referencing style.
- Send the soft copy of the article to the Managing Editor "The VAS Journal" through email: covtedvasjournal@gmail.com, and alongside a correction guide of the correction effected and where in the body of the paper it was effected. You will be contacted about the assessment and publication fees. Thereafter, the evidence of payment must be sent through the Journal email address.
- Letter of acceptance would be sent to the author(s) after receiving corrected article, evidence of payment and the confirmation that the corrections and modifications pointed out by the expert assessors have been attended to by the authors(s).
